Intro to Improv with Glenn and Victoria

Come and try out improv theatre with two world renowned improv teachers – here in the Island Theatre, Ballinamore!

Improv(e) your life in the best way possible! This workshop will give you the GROUNDBREAKING tools on how to master improv on and off stage and is the perfect Sunday activity!

We’ll work on skills such as making, accepting, and justifying offers; advance & extend in storytelling, making the relationship the focus in simple scenes, as well as failing happily. You’ll learn to look after yourself as well as focus on your scene partner, by exploring what it means to ‘be yourself’, to ‘be kind’, and to ‘be bold’, in a fun and supportive environment.

No experience is needed!
Teachers are Victoria Bang (Sweden) and Glenn Hall (Australia). Together, Glenn and Victoria travel the world, to meet friends old and new, while using the power of improvisation to connect, inspire and make the world a little bit smaller…even if they can never agree on the temperature.

Glenn Hall is from Perth, Western Australia and is the founder and Creative Director of Just Improvise™ specialising in improvised theatre, corporate leaders’ education and improv and actor training. With over 30 years experience, he’s a professional performer, voice artist and a world-renowned improviser and teacher, regularly invited to international improv festivals and theatres around the globe to share his knowledge. He lectured improvisation and theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) for 20 years, rated in the top 25 performing art schools in the world.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Drama and English) and a Bachelor of Education from Curtin University and is a member of Curtin University’s Vice Chancellor’s list, graduating in the top 1% of his school.

Victoria Bang is from Gothenburg, Sweden, and is a professionally actor. She is one of Sweden’s most hired improvisers and improv teachers abroad, and regularly performs and teaches at various improvisation festivals and theaters around the world. She was until recently a producer for GbgImpro – Gothenburg Improvisation Theatre, a position she held for over a decade, and has also trained and performed as a Magician and Magician’s Assistant.
